ColibriDDC
Professional SDR Receiver
ColibriDDC is a compact HF receiver based on a 14-bit ADC with direct down-conversion (DDC). It covers 0.1...55 MHz and, in undersampling mode, up to 800 MHz (in this case we recommend using external band-pass filters). It records IQ with a bandwidth of up to 312 kHz. Its enclosure measures 125 × 65 × 26 mm.
Reception and signal analysis
Two independent software receivers, each with a SubRX, provide four slices simultaneously. Each receiver panorama reaches 312 kHz, while the Bandscope reaches 62 MHz.
BPF-KIT
The BPF-KIT is an internal band-pass filter module for the 160-10 M bands with a switchable -20 dB attenuator and a +10 dB preamplifier.
Laboratory and research
Undersampling lets you receive signals above the ADC range, while IQ recordings support later analysis. The 100 Mbps Ethernet connection links the receiver to a PC, and several receivers can be used on one computer at the same time.
Receive site in a cleaner RF environment
Install the ColibriDDC where the band is quieter: at a country house or away from city noise. The receiver works in tandem with a locally installed transceiver: the remote ColibriDDC handles reception, the home transceiver handles transmission. Synchronization and peripherals
The REF input accepts an external 10 MHz reference for precise frequency synchronization. Via ExtCtrl the receiver controls external devices: band-pass filters and antenna switches. The built-in 24-bit audio codec outputs sound directly to headphones.
Remote reception
Remote operation (ERS)
Expert Remote System (ERS) access is included: the receiver stays in place, while control is available from a browser or from ExpertSDR3. Connect directly or through the ExpertCloud cloud; the E-Coder2 panel at the remote end provides convenient tuning, with a headset plugged into it.
Software and integration
Free ExpertSDR3 for ColibriDDC, always the current version on the website, updates are free. The open web-socket TCI 2.1 protocol lets loggers, skimmers and digital-mode software connect to ExpertSDR3 without virtual COM ports or audio cables. See the catalog of compatible software; programs without TCI can use the RadioSync bridge (CAT, OmniRig). Four independent slices and data streaming over TCI make the ColibriDDC a popular receiver for RBN skimmer nodes.
