PA50WV VHF 2M
The PA50WV 50W VHF power amplifier
The PA50WV 50W VHF power amplifier (hereinafter referred to as the "Amplifier") for the 2M band is designed for linear amplification of high-frequency signals. Externally, the amplifier consists of a SunSDR2 PRO transceiver housing and a heatsink and cooler from the SunSDR2 DX transceiver. This amplifier will be of interest to long-distance radio enthusiasts on the 2M band. One possible use for this amplifier is installation in a vehicle with the SunSDR2 PRO transceiver.
To achieve 50W output power on the VHF, a Mitsubishi RA60H1317M amplifier assembly is used. Thanks to the use of active broadband elements in the amplifier, it requires no tuning or adjustment across the entire operating frequency range. Active cooling allows the amplifier to operate continuously for extended periods of time at full output power. The amplifier is designed using a classic single-ended circuit and operates in all modulation modes.
The amplifier features an extensive protection circuit—it automatically shuts down if the heatsink temperature, drain voltage, or SWR exceed acceptable limits. The amplifier is protected against supply voltage reversal and offers overall high reliability.
